About Patti

Patti is a tehsil, as well as a Municipal council in Tarn Taran district of the Punjab State (India). This tehsil is surrounded by many beautiful places, one among such spot is the Amritsar, which is situated with a distance of about 45 kms from the Patti. This town of Patti holds a great place in the history of Punjab. The records say that, during the ruling period of Mughals, an Mughal Governor made Patti as his residence. However, after independence it got separated and the tehsil houses many historical and religious spots.

History of Patti

Once Patti was known as 9 Lakhi Patti, because of the high income generated of about 9 lakhs. This was somewhere during the Medival period . After many years Patti became a part of Lahore district until it got divided. Then few years later when Amritsar was partitioned, this tehsil got merged with the newly formed district of Tarn Taran.

Patti is located between the latitude of 31.2800° to the North, and longitude of 74.8600° towards the East with an altitude of 209 metres above the sea level. Some of the places that surround Patti village are the Raipur and Meghpur, as well as Rampur Sahni, which are located with a distance of just 1 kilometres from Patti.
